Saint Joseph Academy Environmental Graphics

Type of Work: Environmental Design
Summer 2015–present

I have enjoyed all my experiences designing with schools and non-profits, but Saint Joseph Academy is one of my favorite clients. It is the high school I attended, and giving back to an organization that gave so much to me makes the work I do all the more rewarding. From my time as an intern in 2015 to now as a freelancer, I have worked on many projects for Saint Joseph Academy in both print and digital mediums. Some of my favorite projects for them have been environmental graphics: banners, posters, and other large-scale displays.

One of these environmental design is shown here. I designed banners for display on the light posts that line the driveway in and out of Saint Joseph Academy’s campus. I aimed to create a design that would be meaningful and recognizable to any student, faculty member, or alumna. With this in mind, I took the lyrics to the school’s alma mater and split them up across the banners. Some of the banners are text-only, and others pair a lyric with a photo. Across all photos, I tried to represent the diversity in opportunities available to the young women of Saint Joe’s. Photos of academics, sports, arts, and volunteer opportunities can be seen on the various banners, a few of which are shown here.
