Type of Work: Photography
Spring 2015
Inspired by the themes and compositions of photographers Keith Carter, Shana and Robert ParkeHarrison, and Christopher McKenney, this collection draws from a conglomerate of inspiration. These images also explore the Freudian concept of thanatos, or “the death instinct.” According to Freud, every living being experiences a pull toward death and self destruction. We all want to explore dangerous impulses, that which is alarming, ominous, and frightful: the dark parts of the self.
