Type of Work: Bookbinding
Fall 2015
After taking a course entitled “Artist Books’ and Papermaking” at the University of Notre Dame, I learned how to hand bind a variety of book structures. Three of these are the double pamphlet, which features two signatures separated by central tab; an exposed spine sketchbook with tapes, which features coptic stitching; and a hard spine, the most traditional method of binding books.
Books:
1. All three constructions
2–3. Double Pamphlet
4–6. Exposed Spine
7–8. Hard Spine
